Playwright Biography
Jonathan Mayer is a playwright currently based in New York
City. He hails from the Orlando, Florida area and is a graduate
of Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At Harvard,
he studied Dramatic Arts and worked extensively with the
American Repertory Theatre.
As an author of many one-act plays, short films, and full-length
screenplays, he started writing at 14 and continues to do
so. In 2006, he won the VSA Arts Playwright Discovery Award
for his play Mistakes-R-Us, which was chosen out
of 250 entries to world premiere at the John F. Kennedy
Center in Washington, DC.
Jonathan is professionally published by both Playscripts,
Inc. and Brooklyn Publishers. His plays have been performed
across North America and Europe. In addition, one of his
short stories was exhibitioned with an art exhibit at the
Louvre in Paris.
